New to registered shooting. Just curious, after a Shoot, about (generally) how long until the official scores are posted on the website?

Welcome to the ATA. The time it takes for your scores to be posted on the ATA website depends on several variables. If the gun club where you shot fills out the shoot reports manually and sends in the reports by snail mail this will take longer than reports that are done on a computer and sent in by email. If the ladies in the ATA office are very busy with many big Shoots occurring at the same time, it will take longer for the records to be updated. I would say that it takes an average of a week and up to a month for the scores to be posted. This is why you are required to write down your scores and keep your averages up to date for the next shoot that you attend.

Very good, all makes sense. I will have someone show me how to fill out and keep record of my scoring.

Dan, in order to get some instructions on filling out the Average Card, on the main ATA page  hold the mouse over ABOUT US and then click on ATA Bylaws, Rulebook & Forms. You will get a new page and under ATA Average Card: on the right hand side, click on ATA Average Card Instructions (pdf).
